Speaking at the event, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee\u2019s Hanoi chapter Nguyen Lan Huong appreciated efforts and involvement of front organisations at all levels in implementing the fund-raising work.<\/p>\n

She asked relevant agencies to promote communications campaign to popularise the meaning of the campaign, thus attracting the participation of public communities.<\/p>\n

Last year, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc decided to rename the \u201cVi Truong Sa Than yeu\u201d (For\u00a0Beloved Truong Sa)\u00a0fund as \u201cFund for Vietnam\u2019s Sea, Islands\u201d.<\/p>\n

The fund was established in 2011, aiming to encourage people to turn their mind and heart to Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, while enhancing awareness among all sectors, localities and Vietnamese people at home and abroad of the importance of Vietnam\u2019s sea and islands.<\/p>\n

It has also helped bring the resolution\u00a0on \u201cVietnam’s Sea Strategy by 2020\u201d into reality, mobilising social resources to defend the national sovereignty over sea, islands and continental shelf.<\/p>\n

Sponsors can contribute to the fund through bank transfer to the VFF account number 1483201009159 at the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agirbank).-VNA\n
