President Tran Dai Quang’s visits enhance Vietnam’s ties with Belarus and Russia
During the visits, Vietnam signed 14 cooperative agreements with Russia and 9 with Belarus to boost bilateral cooperation in economics, national defense, security, sports, tourism, natural resources, environment, science and technology. Vietnam and Russia issued a Joint Statement after President Tran Dai Quang’s visit. President Quang and his Belarusian counterpart signed a Joint Statement on boosting comprehensive and extensive partnership between the two countries. The leaders agreed on the need to take advantage of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement and raise Vietnam-Russia trade to 10 billion USD by 2020 and Vietnam-Belarus trade to 500 million USD in the near future.
During his visits, President Quang thanked Russian and Belarusian leaders and relevant agencies for support the Vietnamese community in the country of residence./.
